These individual training modules provide participants with the video content and related tools and templates only.
Coalitions are a vital component of ballot measure campaigns. How you build this coalition and the campaign structure it supports often means the difference between functionality and dysfunction – between winning and losing. In this module, we are going to talk about best practices for building an effective and equitable coalition and ballot measure campaign structure, effective decision-making models, and division of work and roles within this structure.
Whether your campaign is on the offense or defense, at some point you need to decide whether or not you can win moving forward as a ballot measure campaign. This decision affects the type and cost of the campaign you’ll run. This module provides participants with the core considerations and questions they must ask when making a “Go/No Go” Decision.
This module focuses on the best practices of ballot measure polling and research programs - from determining viability to identifying the coalition of voters you need to win. Learn the questions to ask and how to evaluate a ballot-measure poll so you can be an informed consumer who can get the most out of a research program.
This module provides participants with the “how” and “why” we craft a 360 Campaign Plan and the biggest differences between candidate campaign planning and ballot measure campaign planning. Core principles covered in this module include: building campaign plans that reflect our values, the roles of staff and consultants, and how to continue building organizational and infrastructure capacity from one phase of the campaign to the next.
Our opponents have been relentless in their efforts to push forward bad public policy that hurts our communities, while using strategies and tactics that undermine our democracy. It’s time to shift our approach to these fights from being “reactive” to proactive. This session will focus on strategies and tactics we can employ on defensive campaigns to achieve transformative and equitable wins while building sustainable grassroots power.
